boys and cars
Who knew…? When I said I was done with exams and studying for the summer, I was so wrong! I always go and jinx everything. Although considering my luck it’s not very difficult. I live life by the book and by book I mean the book on Murphy’s Law (there must be one out there). For the past 6 hours I have been studying the road signs and everything else for my theoretical exam for my driving licence. It’s not particularly hard but it’s boring at times as it can get really repetitive.
At the same time I have been arguing with my brother about the car that we might get in the future. Actually our sponsor (daddy) has offered to buy us a car as my brother doesn’t work and I can’t afford one on my income. A car that would be for the both of us. I have always liked Peugeot but not because I know anything about their cars. I simply think they’re pretty.
My brother, on the other hand, knows everything there is about cars. In fact, this is his passion; fast cars, slower cars, pretty cars, how fast they go, how quickly they accelerate to a certain speed, why it is better if they have him behind the wheel etc. Anyway, he wants one of the new Mini’s.
I have one rule when it comes to cars. A car should have all 4 doors. I find it a little ridiculous if it doesn’t. I always thought so. Why should it have only 2 doors when it could just as easily have 4? They don’t take any extra space, do they? I am sure that I could cause a riot against me with my comments on this subject right now but I am willing to risk it. All you sport car fanatics out there with only 2 doors on your cars do you have an explanation why 2 doors is better than 4? My brother failed to explain this to me.
After all said and done, I am not fussy about what car I drive as long as I have a car when I need it. So I decided to let my brother have it his way. It is up to him which car we will drive. I trust his judgement even though if he chooses the Mini it will have only 2 doors… See how nice I am?

You are really kind! As for me, I would insist to buy a car with 4 doors!
Commented on July 11th, 2006 at 3:25 pmI’ve had both 2-door and 4-door cars, and I currently have a 4-door. Those 2-door jobs are a pain in the butt! You’re too kind to let him have his way with the 2-doors. But given the choice between 2 doors and no doors, I’d take 2 doors every time
