yoshi’s having a FFAF and I posted!
Come on everyone! Head over to Yoshi’s for your fix of FFAF fun! I am not doing it this month but he is! I’ve just posted my own guest-entry there too so if you want you can have a read of my internal clock is out of whack, an ode to wine.
Lisa needs our help!
Lisa has received some bad news. She has been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer for the third time. She has been strong and beat this twice so far. To help her through this Miss Ann has organised a fundraiser raffle. Please go over to donate or help in any way you can. It will be very appreciated.
As you can see we’re trying to send her and her family to Disneyland and I’m sure between us we can all find a few quid or bucks to donate. The participation so far has been incredible but every donation counts so please do all you can. There are buttons you can use on your own blog to let more people know.
here endeth thy free for all
I extended this month’s Free For All Friday to last until a few minutes ago because I just couldn’t get enough of it but my hosting company crippled my site for a big part of this weekend (again).
I will not go into rant mode now and will put my energy into finishing this post. So, here are this month’s FFAF participants:
- Yoshi with I am legend
- cybrpunk with Taking Colin hostage
- Bio with No Teddy Bear Required
And here are my participations on other people’s blogs for FFAF:
- rolling in a ball at Kat Scratch Fever
- My glasses are better than your glasses at Pandora’s Box
- even though I posted this already… at hello! yoshi
Hmmm, I’d have sworn there were more entries to mention in this post. If I forgot anything please leave a comment to let me know. Thanks to everyone who participated and I hope to see you all next month for more Free For All fun (that sounded dirty didn’t it?). Until then, keep in touch!
while the blog was down
Since this blog died on Friday night I have not been able to post about things I’ve been up to here. Of course I’m still guest blogging at Pandora’s Box while the wonderful Pandora is away and this helped a little but there are things that don’t belong there and that should be here. The blog downage (it is a real word because I said it) yesterday meant that there isn’t an addition to my Mondayz Tunez this week. I will post another song next week since this is my second post for today and I don’t want to over-post.
The first and very big and awesome piece of news is that the plaid toaster has now been saved! Melanie’s blog was in danger of closing down but everyone helped and the crisis has been averted! I may not know Melanie very well but I tried to help too because that’s what I would like other people to do for me if I was ever in any trouble and I can totally understand what it feels like to be left without a outlet for your daily woes.
In other news, as promised here are links to more of my posts on Pandora’s Box:
Mutter #267
therapy in the making is down! I. must. keep. calm.
Nothing fancy like my first guest post there so far but you can go have a read and comment too!
Now let’s move on to more personal matters. As you may have read on Pandora’s Box I went clubbing on Thursday night in a very crowded night club. Even though I had fun nothing too exciting happened. However, on Friday we went back and even though the club was not as crowded we had more fun. I like to have a lot of people around me when I dance (not to the point where everybody is dancing on top of each other like on Thursday). Anyway, on Friday I saw someone who seems like the sweetest person ever. He is very cute but I didn’t have the balls to go and speak to him. I am a very shy person when it comes to approaching people and that’s why the last 2 people I went out with (this number includes my last boyfriend) I had met online. I find it a lot easier to talk to people online or at least initiate a conversation. Anyway at some point I couldn’t stop staring at him and when he noticed he looked back and smiled the cutest smile I have seen in a long time. He left shortly after that and I didn’t get the chance to do anything about it. I am definitely going back to that club in hopes of seeing him again and this time I will at least try to talk to him. So wish me luck and if you have any advice on this I’d be very happy to read it!
Moving forward in time to last night now… I went to Jacob’s Stories Album Launch Show. (Jacob’s Stories MySpace page - you can hear some of the songs here) The show was great and the other two bands there supporting Jacob’s Stories were very good also but the highlight of the night for me was the performance of Jacob’s Stories. I have photos and video from the night which I will post later or tomorrow and I got Stuart to sign my copy of the album for which I am very excited! After last night I have decided to make more of an effort to attend shows of local bands.
Today I was invited to go to an advanced screening of 27 Dresses which I decided not to go to even though I think the film will be kind of fun. I have a lot of work to do for my final year project (which is due very soon). I will try and watch it some other time that I’ll have less to do.
This is it for now. I hope you’re having a nice Tuesday!
you can find me at Pandora’s Box
Hello everyone! For the next few days (more like until the end of this month). I will be guest blogging at Pandora’s Box as she is away I was one of the people who volunteered to babysit her blog. I will be posting here the links to my posts there so you can go have a read and hopefully comment. I’ll try to keep it interesting.
The first post is already up!
Go read going clubbing and doing laundry now and don’t forget to comment!
the end of the first FFAF for therapy in the making
Hello everyone! I am a little late in closing the FFAF for this month because I had a small culinary accident. Thanks to everyone who posted and I hope to see you next month for more guest blogging! Don’t be strangers now!
Here are the links to my guest posts on other people’s blogs:
- mid-blog-life crisis?! on Pandora’s blog

Blog Action Day :: 15th of October 2007
Blog Action Day is approaching fast. In almost a month from today thousands of people will be blogging for one cause. This year’s important issue that will be discussed is the environment. Every blogger will be able to “Post about the environment in their own way and relating to their own topic. Our aim is to get everyone talking towards a better future.”
Everyone, no matter of nationality or background, will be able to join in either by:
“Publishing a post on their blog which relates to an issue of their own choice pertaining to the environment. For example: A blog about money might write about how to save around the home by using environmentally friendly ideas. Similarly a blog about politics might examine what weight environmental policy holds in the political arena. Posts do not need to have any specific agenda, they simply need to relate to the larger issue in whatever way suits the blogger and readership. Our aim is not to promote one particular viewpoint, only to push the issue on the table for discussion. So write in whatever way suits your readers and your blog, just relate it back to the environment and make sure it goes up on October 15th.”
or by:
“Posting a banner on their site (http://blogactionday.org/promote) or by donating their day’s blog earnings to an environmental charity of their choice.”
I will be there and hopefully so will you.
mondayz tunez #11 :: another happy-happy song
Hello everyone! Sorry for disappearing for this long. Holidaying with my family was great and very relaxing but I’m still at my parents’ house which means my Internet connection sucks (when it actually works, that is). This is the reason I have been unable to post anything. I have managed to connect today though and I am happy to present you with another one of my Mondayz Tunez. I am sorry that the last Monday Tune I posted was not uploaded properly. Like I said my connection here sucks. I’ve tried to fix and the only thing I managed to do is upload just a slightly longer part of the song.
So let me introduce to you this week’s Monday Tune: I adore this song! It is so happy and uplifting that I can’t help dancing/singing along every time I hear it. In fact it is my favourite song out of all the songs this band has made and they have produced some great songs!
I give you Dire Straits and the “Walk of Life”
[audio:Dire Straits - Walk Of Life.mp3]
I also found out that our favourite yoshi is doing a Tuesday Tune special on his site so head on to yoshi’s blog on Tuesdays for another dose of weekly music!
Update: I forgot to say that the beautiful Luka is also posting a song every Tuesday as well. So click over to Luka’s blog tomorrow and every Tuesday to listen to her choice of the week!

Okay, before I move on is anyone else having as a good a time as I am having tonight! I must thank all the guys at MPYR Radio for keeping each other company and being such good sports! Especially the DJ’s who so far have been amazing with their selections of music and keeping up with our constant requests and even encouraging them!
If you are not already listening head over to MPYR Radio and make sure you join us in the chat room also!
Now back to the normal posting:
Growing up I wanted to be an English teacher. Every time I think about it laugh so much because it is probably the most boring job a child could ever say he or she wanted to do. When I finished school and actually had to start thinking what I was going to study and follow as a career I kept saying either Marketing or Business Management but deep down I still wanted to be a teacher. I ended up studying Electronic and Computer Engineering for a year (before realising that cables and I don’t match) and now I’m studying Computer Science.
I am still not sure exactly what I want to follow as a career.
Did you have a dream job growing up? Did you follow your dream?
