Rise and shine (or cough as needed)
I will get out of bed but I refuse to shine. Being up is enough. (Careful that doesn’t mean I’m alert or anything, I still feel asleep). I woke up about 30 minutes ago with the cough from hell… I don’t think that it is the smoking that is causing it. I think I caught some kind of a cold a few days back (yes I’ve had it for THAT long). The only symptom is an annoying cough that wakes me in the morning, puts me to sleep at night and sometimes wakes up the neighbour’s dog. I have been overdosing on Strepsils (not that they ever do anything) but I refuse to quit smoking at the moment. I don’t give a flying fuck! I will tolerate the cough because I simply cannot tolerate a lack of Nicotine.
Smoking is bad kids. Don’t do it. (Like you didn’t know that) And while I’m at it, drinking is bad and so is pre-marital sex. (who am I kidding?)
I know this is old news but I will speak about it. Those warning labels on the packets do they have a reason for existing? Do they say something we don’t know or haven’t heard? I find them really funny and amusing at times (especially when there’s nothing good on TV and I just stare at my packet giggling away - have I mentioned I’m brain-dead?). My favourite one is “Smoking can cause a slow and painful death”. I’m not laughing at the point I’m laughing at the phrasing (the anti-smoking mafia at work again).
I have promised myself I will quit smoking soon, however, soon does not easily translate into a date. So unless I set a date soon (’soon’ - do you see what I did there?) I don’t see it happening.
I’ve only just started sipping on my coffee which means soon enough I will be caffeine driven and won’t be able to stop moving. That’s what happens when you haven’t had coffee in such a long time.
