happy 2nd birthday, my blog - going back in time post #1
As I mentioned in an earlier post, this blog is 2 years old today! It feels like it was yesterday when I first started writing here but so much has happened and changed in my life since then that when I think of those days they feel like decades ago.
This year was not my best, blogging-wise, so at some point I asked my friend Adrian to guest blog on here also so the blog wouldn’t die completely. I suffered from a horrible writers block for a most of the year and work was keeping me too busy so when I returned home I just didn’t have the energy to write anything. At times I was also a little too depressed to post anything or anything cheerful at least so I chose to abstain. Adrian helped me out very much so I’d like to thank him with all my heart. If it wasn’t for him I would had eventually given up on this blog and not only would I not be here to blog today but I would also be very disappointed in myself.
One of my favourite posts from the past year is 2 bottles of wine. I wrote it when drunk and after doing something I would never have done if I wasn’t. Don’t worry it wasn’t anything dirty. Have you done anything really weird that you normally wouldn’t do, when drunk?

Pandora said:I’ve never been drunk! No, really! Alcohol makes me really sleepy and I generally lose interest in alcohol before I get drunk. Weird fact about Pandora!

Colin Brooks said:Very interesting! Alcohol makes me sleepy as well but only after a few drinks so I’m either already drunk or close to being drunk.
Adrian said:Ohh Col! That’s so sweet! It’s nice to know that I have made a positive influence in someone’s life!

also thank you to Adrian, for making sure that the blog kept going - some stalkers are a good thing - separated by 11500 miles helps alot…..lol
I’m trying to remember a drunk story involving me. But i remember being on guard duty, when some drunken officers decided to “steal” the station gate guard ( flying stations in the RAF usually have some sort of decommissioned aircraft at the front gate) this was right outside the guardroom, and nobody noticed - luckily i was out on patrol so the shit didn’t come in my direction much.
anyway they moved it down the road - caused a full security alert, with the whole station being awoken at 4 in the morning, the station commander being called out and was hoping mad.
The station virtually being put on a war footing and completely locked down.
The orderly corporal was charged with failing to carry out his duties, the officers were fined a few months pay and were confined to their rooms for a few months apart from when training.
the rest of the guard all got extra duties, me included
about 6 months later when back on guard duty, I stopped one of these officers, unlucky for him his ID had expired - he was dragged out of his car and on the floor in about 10 seconds - this was in the days when the IRA were bombing military installations - revenge is a dish best served cold
