I needed a break after the ‘thon ended but I slightly overdid it. I am here though, alive and blogging and have things to say. The last week went by so incredibly fast that before I knew it, it was the weekend again.

My last week at work ended last Friday. As of Friday 5:30pm I am an out of a job student scum again! I am ready to go back to University and finish my degree now and this placement year was a wonderful experience. That week was so busy that I didn’t have the time to realise that it was the last week. I was working non stop and was constantly on too much coffee. I had so much to do and not enough time that I ended up going back to the office for almost a whole extra day on Monday to hand over all the tasks and projects I have been involved in. Another thing that made the week go by so quickly was my dire desire for Friday to arrive so I could see the guy that had been on my mind since the day we first spoke. Just thinking about him kept me going and smiling no matter what I was doing.

The plan was for him and my friend Maria to come over on Friday and since it was Pride Weekend we would go out and enjoy the weekend. That’s exactly what happened they both arrived on Friday. Saturday my friend Lee joined us and we all went out to see the parade and then made our way to Preston Park where the parade finishes. There we met up with my friend Jane and her beautiful 5 year old daughter and just sat back and had a very chilled out time with a few beers to drink and civilised conversation avoiding the madness of Pride.

This weekend was possibly the best weekend of my life so far and it’s all because of my boyfriend. Yes, my boyfriend! We are officially together and even if it sounds too soon (we only met two weeks ago) it feels too right. He is the man I always wished I would meet and being with him feels like I’m living a dream. He makes me happy on so many levels and when I think that this is actually real and I am not just fantasising about it I go into a natural high. I feel like no one can touch me or hurt me and I feel more comfortable in my own skin than I ever did. I will go as far as to say that this is a guy I could soon be falling in love with which scares me a little (mostly in a good way) because I have never been in love. After all the shit I’ve been through with my love life I feel like I deserve to be happy but at the same time I feel like I am not worthy enough to be with him which shows just how amazing he is. I know I am a good person and so far I’ve only been taken advantage of and used but he is not like that. He treats me with the same respect and amazement that I treat him.

I am genuinely happy and I owe it all to my boyfriend, Ben.
