mission #4: failed (or not?)
I think it is time to announce that I have failed miserably in my fourth attempt to quit smoking. I’ve been ignoring the fact that instead of smoking two cigarettes a day like in the first couple of weeks I have moved on to full time smoking again; only this time I’m smoking roll ups. The odd thing is that I really don’t enjoy roll ups! I used to smoke them 3 years ago and I stopped them because I hated them.
They turned my fingers yellow, made my breath smell even worse than proper cigarettes and killed my throat. After three weeks of roll ups all aforementioned symptoms have returned with the highlight of this morning. I could not speak and my throat was swollen and in pain. One way or another today I could not smoke due to my fear of my throat never getting better again and the extra pain another cigarette would add. So does this mean I am winning the battle or am still being defeated by cigarettes? Depending on how you look at it both of these statements can be true or it could be a tie…

I could have sworn i’d made a comment already but it seems to have dissapeared
well i think its better to have attempted and relapsed that never to have attempted to give up at all

thanks for the link. i may resort to that soon…
Giving up smoking is very difficult, I speak from experience. After four years of smoking daily I gave up about a week ago. Admittedly it was a little easier for me as what I’ve been smoking is slightless less legal and harder to come by, plus is less socially acceptable. Just remember Colin: Every little bit helps. Don’t buy cigarettes, that’s the first step, throw out those that you have now, papers, lighters, anything that you used to use to smoke, any smoking impliments. Find something to do with your hands, occupy yourself, If you catch yourself in the middle of a cigarette put it out, don’t finish it. Gum and patches can help I’m told, I dunno, not tried them myself, they only provide nicotine and not THC.
