new masthead :: the ghosts of butterflies
Because of everything that’s been going on with my mother I have been unable to concentrate on studying. I usually find that expressing myself creatively helps me take my mind off of things. Today I have been incredibly incapable of focusing on anything so I sat down and thought I’d try making a new masthead a few days early.
It is already up there but if you can’t see it you need to refresh the page after clearing your browser’s cache. I also changed the background to match the new masthead.
I give you, “battling my insomnia one z at a time”. Since I have been struggling with sleep lately I found this new tag-line quite fitting. Don’t you think it is?
It’s not one of the best I’ve made but I hope you like it.

If you want you can visit the Mastheads page and have a look at all the mastheads I’ve gone through on this blog but I warn you; the further back you go, the crappier they get. It’s like a timeline of how my design skills are evolving, if you may.

I like that you change your masthead. And yes, this one is quite fitting
Commented on May 13th, 2008 at 1:13 amI love it, Colin! It reminds me of falling asleep when I was little. (Long story….)
Commented on May 13th, 2008 at 1:17 amInteresting… I was just running through all your mastheads this morning and was so proud of myself for finally getting caught up… only to have you drop another one on me today! I like it quite a lot.
Commented on May 13th, 2008 at 1:33 amYay, i’m so glad you kept the butterflies!
Commented on May 13th, 2008 at 2:43 amPandora :: You’ll have to share that story! Perhaps something to post on your lovely but neglected blog?
Dave2 :: Ha! I’m very very sneaky! I’m glad you like it. Some of the old mastheads are embarrassing as they’re pretty bad but I like to keep a record of all the looks this blog has had especially since I have spent a LOT of time making all of them.
And since I can’t have all the themes or templates (or whatever you want to call them) displayed, the mastheads will do.
yoshi :: Not only did I keep the butterflies but I also put some on the background as well! It was time to cut off those weeds growing up there.
Butterflies are good, we like the little flying butters..yes we do.

Commented on May 13th, 2008 at 4:52 amI *do* like the masthead with the ghostly butterflies - very nice.
BTW, make sure you let your tutors know about the situation with your mum - gives them the ability to give you a little slack if they can.
Commented on May 13th, 2008 at 8:24 amVery nice! It looks very Japonais to me. I like it.

a Haiku..
or two
They’re like little scary radioactive butterflies that can’t be caught and can only be seen in your peripheral vision. I like it a lot. Spoooooky
Commented on May 14th, 2008 at 3:18 amcybrpunk :: heehee! They are a little spooky but they’re meant to. They’re part of the theme, you know, insomnia and all and your mind playing tricks on you. Glad you like it!
very nice sir. now let me go look at your first mastheads *gets popcorn*
