singing
I enjoy singing. I do it almost every day. People say I have a nice voice. Personally, I can’t stand to even listen to myself speak, let alone sing.
When in high school I used to be in a short-lived band. We got together only to perform once. We didn’t have any future plans for the band. It was for a good cause, a charity event that my school was organising. To be honest with you, my love of singing wasn’t the only reason I joined the band. To me it also meant I would be excused from classes for most of the day to sing.
My problem is that I cannot do anything in front of an audience without shaking, or my voice trembling and generally losing any ability to act like something that’s on the top of the food chain. I am getting better at it day by day and can now do karaoke without making a complete fool of myself.
After practicing for a couple of months the day came when I had to sing in public at the charity event. However too many people turned up…
That night I sang in front of more than 1000 people. They loved me (and the rest of the guys playing the instruments) but I almost shit myself on that stage. I don’t think I can do this again.
It is however one of my greatest memories. A week after the gig the band and I got together one last time and recorded a CD of the songs we performed at the gig.

about ME, ME, ME

That’s way cool man! I wish I could sing, well, I wish I could sing better. I tend to ’sing’ along to songs that I like, much to the annoyance of anyone within ear shot.
