The hiiiiiiills are alive, with the sound of muuuusiiiiiiic!
I know that it’s a gay cliche, but I love musicals. So, for no special reason, other than the fact that I’m procrastinating doing uni assignments and I haven’t posted in ages because work is so busy, here is a list of my favourite five musicals on DVD.
1. Moulin Rouge - A clever adaptation of the genre, the songs are catchy, even if not so origional, and the plot line is lifted straight from an opera who’s name I can’t think of off the top of my head.
2. Chicago - A great story line which still has revenelce today, catchy songs and great dance numbers.
3. Rent - A modern musical with an origional score. While most musicals are happy, charming events that deal with frivilous stories, the main topics in this musical is homelessness, AIDS and homosexuals.
4. The Sound of Music - If you haven’t seen this film I simply don’t know what to say.
5. Rocky Horror Picture Show - For all you sweet transexuals, from transvestite, Transylvania!
Honourable mentions: Westside Story, Hello Dolly, Les Misérables and Mary Poppins.
Listening to: Rent
